Handcrafted and CNC-carved Jaisalmer sandstone wall panels for interior feature walls, exterior cladding, hotel lobbies, and residential spaces. Available in 2D flat, 3D embossed, and carved relief designs — manufactured directly at our Jaisalmer facility.
Our sandstone wall panel range covers everything from sleek, minimalist flat cladding to deeply carved decorative relief panels inspired by Rajput and Mughal architectural traditions. Every panel begins as a raw block of Jaisalmer yellow sandstone — one of India's finest natural building stones, prized for its warm honey-gold tones, uniform grain structure, and exceptional workability.
2D Flat Panels are the most widely used option for large-format wall cladding. Cut to precise dimensions and finished to your specification — sawn-cut, sandblasted, brushed, or honed — these panels deliver clean contemporary lines while retaining natural stone character. They are lighter per unit area and faster to install than carved variants.
3D Embossed Panels feature geometric or floral patterns raised in relief from the panel face, typically between 10mm and 40mm projection depth. Popular patterns include jaali-inspired lattice, chevron, hexagonal honeycomb, and traditional Rajasthani motifs. The interplay of shadow and stone at different times of day creates a living, shifting wall surface that no paint or wallpaper can replicate.
Carved Relief Panels are the most detailed and artisan-intensive option. Our master karigar craftsmen hand-carve narrative scenes, deity motifs, tree-of-life patterns, peacock designs, and intricate border friezes into the stone face. Each carved panel is unique and takes from two days to three weeks depending on complexity. These panels are commonly used in temple anterooms, luxury hotel lobbies, heritage home feature walls, and resort spa interiors.
Stack Stone and Ledger Panels — assembled from split-face sandstone pieces adhered to a backing mesh — provide a rustic, textured look ideal for garden walls, barbecue areas, and commercial exteriors. The split-face texture exposes the natural cleavage plane of the sandstone, revealing its layered sedimentary character.
All panel types are available in custom dimensions up to 1200mm × 600mm per panel as a standard maximum, with larger format slabs available on request for bespoke projects.
The surface finish of a sandstone wall panel dramatically affects its appearance, texture, and maintenance requirements. We offer five standard finishes and can match custom specifications for high-end projects.
Sawn Cut is the basic factory finish — a smooth, slightly grooved surface left by the diamond blade, showing the stone's natural colour clearly. Sandblasted panels have a matte, slightly roughened texture that scatters light softly and hides minor installation imperfections. Honed panels are ground to a silky flat surface without reaching a full polish, offering a refined contemporary look. Brushed / Aged finishes simulate centuries of natural weathering by wire-brushing the surface to raise the softer mineral grains and expose the harder quartz matrix, creating antique patina ideal for heritage restoration and traditional bungalow interiors. Split Face finish exposes the raw cleavage plane for a dramatic rough-rock aesthetic.
Installation of sandstone wall panels follows three main methods. Full-bed adhesive bonding using polymer-modified stone adhesive is the standard approach for panels up to 600×300mm indoors. Mechanical fixing with stainless steel clips or dowels is recommended for exterior facades, larger panels, and high-humidity environments. Clip-rail systems (ventilated facades) provide the best long-term performance for tall exterior walls by allowing air circulation behind the stone. Our team provides detailed installation specification sheets and can recommend experienced fixers in most Indian metros.
Not all sandstone is equal. Jaisalmer sandstone — quarried from the Thar Desert belt around Jaisalmer, Rajasthan — is distinguished by its remarkably consistent fine grain, its warm golden-yellow colour with subtle pink and cream veining, and its natural resistance to the extreme temperature swings of the Indian climate. Where cheaper sandstones from other regions may delaminate, spall, or absorb excessive moisture, Jaisalmer stone maintains structural integrity across decades.
The stone's compressive strength of 50–80 MPa makes it suitable for both decorative and load-bearing applications. Its water absorption rate of 2–5% is relatively low for a sedimentary stone, and with appropriate sealing it performs comparably to granite in exterior wet-zone applications. The uniform colour consistency across quarry batches allows large-format installations — hotel facades, conference centre walls — to be completed without visible colour banding between panel batches.
Sourced directly by Shraddha Saburi Stone from our own quarry connections in the Jaisalmer belt, every block is inspected at source for colour uniformity, absence of iron staining, and structural soundness before being transported to our Kishangarh RIICO workshop for cutting, carving, and finishing.
