Precision Engineering · Jaisalmer
Where digital precision meets desert stone. Our CNC stone carving facility in Jaisalmer uses 3-axis and 5-axis machines to translate architectural drawings and custom designs into accurately carved sandstone panels, jali screens, logos, and sculptural relief work — at commercial scale, to exacting tolerances.
Computer Numerical Control (CNC) carving brings the accuracy of digital manufacturing to natural sandstone. At Shraddha Saburi Stone, our CNC facility operates 3-axis and 5-axis routing machines equipped with diamond-tipped carbide tooling specifically calibrated for Jaisalmer sandstone's medium hardness (Mohs 4–5).
The process begins with your design file — whether a DXF drawing of an architectural jali pattern, an AI vector of a corporate logo, or a 3D STL mesh for sculptural relief. Our CAM programmers generate toolpaths that optimise tool engagement, minimise breakout on edges, and achieve the specified finish depth in the minimum number of passes.
The result is dimensional accuracy of ±0.5mm across the full working area, with consistent depth control that ensures uniformity across repeat units in large-scale cladding or paving projects. This level of consistency is impossible to achieve through hand-carving alone, which is why CNC has become the standard for contemporary architectural stonework requiring replicable geometry.
Our 5-axis CNC capability allows the cutting head to approach the stone at compound angles, enabling undercuts, barrel vaults, curved surface carving, and full 3D sculptural forms that no 3-axis machine can achieve. This opens possibilities for arched niches, dome segments, figurative relief panels, and complex capital mouldings that were previously restricted to skilled hand-carvers.
Stone slabs are vacuum-clamped to the machine bed, eliminating vibration that causes chipping and edge breakout. Diamond core bits, ball-nose end mills, and V-groove tools are selected based on design geometry and required surface quality. Final surfaces can be left machine-finished, sandblasted, or hand-tooled by our artisans to add organic warmth after the CNC geometry has been established.
We maintain a digital library of over 300 standard patterns — Islamic geometric, Rajasthani floral, contemporary linear, temple motif, and abstract — available for immediate production without additional design fees. Custom designs are accepted with a brief lead time for toolpath programming.
The following specifications cover our CNC stone carving production parameters. For projects outside these ranges, contact us directly — we frequently work to custom specifications for large architectural projects.
Standard turnaround of 7–10 working days applies to orders using designs from our pattern library. Custom design programming adds 3–5 working days. Large bulk orders (100+ panels) have individual production schedules agreed at the time of order confirmation.
All CNC-carved pieces are inspected at our facility before dispatch. Edges are chamfered or eased as specified. Fixing holes, back channels, and anchor slots can be machined in the same setup to simplify on-site installation.
CNC stone carving expands what is achievable with natural sandstone, combining the authenticity of the material with the consistency of digital manufacturing. Below are the primary applications our clients commission.
What is the difference between CNC stone carving and hand carving?
CNC carving uses diamond-tipped tools guided by digital files to carve stone with mechanical precision of ±0.5mm — ideal for geometric patterns, repeated motifs, text, logos, and designs requiring exact replication across multiple units. Hand carving offers organic variation, sculptural depth, and artisanal quality that machines cannot replicate. We offer both, and frequently combine them on a single piece — CNC establishes the geometry, hand-carvers add detail and texture to the finished surface.
Can you carve company logos or custom designs in stone using CNC?
Yes. Any vector artwork, DXF, or DWG file can be converted into a CNC toolpath and carved into sandstone. We regularly produce corporate logos for hotel lobby feature walls, brand signage in stone, and custom monograms for residential entrance gates. We accept files in AI, EPS, DXF, DWG, or high-resolution PDF formats. Minimum recommended panel size for logo carving is 300×300mm; maximum panel size is 3000×1500mm.
What types of designs can be made with CNC stone carving?
CNC stone carving can produce: 2D engraved relief panels, deep V-carve lettering, 2.5D raised-relief work, 3D sculptural relief (with 5-axis CNC), perforated jali screens, custom tile medallions, temple architectural mouldings, and 3D topographic or figurative carving. The technique suits geometric, floral, calligraphic, figurative, and abstract designs across a wide range of sandstone thicknesses from 20mm to 300mm.
